Maryland,North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia

()=====================The Southern Colonies=================================()
  The Southern Colonies are the some of the largest colonies out of the thirteen and the South has 1 more colony than the New England and the Middle colonies. The type of farming The Southern Colonies use is plantation farming. Which most states farm Indigo, Rice, Tobacco, and Wheat. What the south mainly exports Timber, Furs 'n Skins, Indigo (Used for ink), and also the south has the most fertile soil in all of the thirteen colonies. The slave population in the south was 68% of the population they worked 15 hours in a day everyday by farming or as servants. The two major groups in the south are Anglicans and Presbytarians. The main workers in the south are lumber jacks and farmers. Aswell with all the other colonies the southern colonies were formed by the culture and geographical features like Maryland/Virginia is partially formed by the Potomac River.

                                                       -Maryland-

   Maryland was founded by Lord Baltimore with some other settlers in 1633. Maryland manufactures, ship-building, and iron-working so they can use it too transport to England. Maryland farms things like indigo, rice, wheat, and corn in plantations. Two major cities in Maryland are Baltimore and Annapolis. It was named after Queen Maria (Queen Mary) of England and was named a state on April 28, 1788. Two geological features of Maryland are the Chesapeke Bay and the Appalachian Mountains which are around 30,000 feet tall.

                                                          -Virginia-

  Virginia was founded in 1607 by Captain John Smith. Virginia’s agriculture just makes tobacco, wheat, and corn. There are three major cities: Richmond, Jamestown, and Williamsburg. Virginia was named after The “Virgin Queen” Elizabeth and it became a state on June 25th, 1788. Two geological features of Virginia are the Potomac River and the Atlantic Ocean.

                                                      -North Carolina-

  North Carolina was founded by Virginian colonists in 1653. North Carolina only farms indigo, rice, and tobacco. Raleigh is the only major city in North Carolina at the time. The colony of North Carolina is From Carolus the Latin word for “Charles,” Charles I of England, and it became a state on November 21st, 1789. Two geological features of North Carolina are The Atlantic Ocean and The Appalachian mountains.

                                                         -South Carolina-
 
  South Carolina was founded in 1663 by English colonists. South Carolina gets their resources from Plantation Farming, and they farmed indigo, rice, cotton, tobacco, and cattle. One major city in South Carolina in Charles Town (Charleston later). The colony of South Carolina is From Carolus the Latin word for “Charles,” Charles I of England, and it became a state on May 23rd, 1788.Two geological features of South Carolina are Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie.

                                                        -Georgia-

 Georgia was founded by James Oglethorpe in 1732 Georgia farmed indigo, rice, and sugar. The only major city is Savannah. The colony is named for King George II and was named a state on January 2nd, 1788. Two geological features of georgia are Lack Blackshear and Lack Sinclar.
